We are now recruiting to welcome the right person to our team and support them in their ongoing equine career.
When does this apprenticeship start?
Friday 3 July 2026, for 12 months.
Is This You?
We are looking for an apprentice who can work hard, work as a team, and be reliable and professional in their approach to life.
We work hard and have fun. The work has a lot of variety, from stud work to looking after competition livery horses and their owners.
Ride or non-ride position available.
No accommodation.
Note: We are based in a rural location that is not serviced by public transport, so please consider how you will get to and from work before applying. There is no accommodation available. This role will also require working in all weather conditions, so any applicant must be willing and able to do this.
What Will Your Work Be?
General yard duties will include;
- Mucking out
- Tacking up and tack cleaning
- Bringing in and turning out
- Clipping/pulling/trimming/plaiting
- Bathing
- Schooling
- Exercising horses (including lunging, horse walker, long reining)
- Bandaging
- Rug changing
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
- Paddock maintenance
Qualifications and Training
All training will take place at the employer’s workplace, as Sheldrake Training offers a 100% Work-Based Learning (WBL) programme.
