“I have been extremely fortunate to be able to conduct Independent End Point Assessment (EPA) on behalf of Sheldrake Training EPAO, since the onset of Equine qualifications being undertaken by the organisation in 2019.
It has been extremely rewarding and satisfying to be able to observe apprentices conducting their normal daily tasks in the yards in which they work and to be able to see the knowledge, skills and behaviours that they have learnt throughout their respective apprenticeships.
As this is the way forward for apprentices I always try to encourage the level two candidates to continue if it is possible, and complete the level three qualification, as this is a recognised qualification in the industry. The criteria are comprehensive and enable individuals to progress down specific paths in the equine industry.
