Congratulations to Freddie Fletcher, who has successfully completed his apprenticeship with Sheldrake Training and has now progressed into Gateway, the final stage before his End Point Assessment. Freddie has shown commitment, professionalism and a real desire to learn throughout his apprenticeship, and we wish him every success as he prepares to complete his qualification.

Freddie’s achievement was celebrated during the recent Noel Fehily Racing Open Day, which highlighted the yard’s exceptional commitment to developing both young horses and the next generation of racing professionals. Noel and Natasha Fehily are passionate advocates for apprenticeship training, providing young people with the knowledge, support and opportunities needed to build long-term careers in the racing industry.

The Open Day showcased the success of this partnership, with two former apprentices who have completed their programmes, one current apprentice, and two prospective apprentices ready to enrol with Sheldrake Training. It is a clear reflection of Noel and Natasha’s commitment to investing in people as well as horses.

The success of the partnership is also being recognised across the wider racing industry. Trainers associated with the Noel Fehily syndicates, including Nick Schofield, who already has an association with Sheldrake Training, continue to champion high-quality staff development. Other leading trainers, including Harry Derham, have also expressed an interest in working with Sheldrake Training after seeing the positive impact of the successful partnership with Noel Fehily Racing.

Working alongside Racing Trainer Coach David Stratton, Sheldrake Training is proud to support Noel Fehily Racing in developing confident, knowledgeable and highly skilled members of the racing workforce. David’s experience in developing young racing talent is reflected in the success of former apprentices who have worked and trained under his guidance, including Caoilin Quinn, now a successful jockey for Gary Moore, and Dan Williams, who has gone on to work as a jockey for Nicky Henderson and as a work rider for the legendary Constitution Hill. Their journeys demonstrate the exciting career opportunities that can develop from the right training, support and commitment. Together, we are creating opportunities, raising standards and helping to secure a bright future for British racing.
