This qualification is recognised by employers in the telecoms industry. It proves your ability to perform various telecoms-related activities including system security, managing software development and using basic IT applications.
You will complete the following units:
Health and Safety in ICT
Develop Own Effectiveness and Professionalism
Communicating in the IT industry
IT Fault Diagnosis and Remedy
Interpersonal and Written Communication
Working with ICT Hardware and Equipment
Security of ICT Systems
ICT System Operation
Technical Advice and Guidance
Testing ICT Systems
To gain the full apprenticeship you will also complete the following:
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
Level 1 Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT
How long is the course
Minimum of one year.
Most of the assessment will happen in your workplace, with the addition of some tests for Functional Skills (if required). You will complete a portfolio of evidence, under the guidance of an assessor, and your progress will be reviewed regularly with achievable targets set to ensure you complete the qualification on time.
